About the Role

A Truck Driver in Street Sanitation operates one or more types of automotive equipment, including a packer-type truck

and dump truck, other than heavy duty or specialized automotive equipment, in the performance of duties. Work consists

of routine manual and simple mechanical operations of equipment. Incumbents are responsible for the safe and efficient

operation of the trucks and related equipment. S/he follows general directions, including work orders to determine work

to be done and routes to be taken, from a superior who performs periodic inspections of work. Incumbents may be called

upon to operate heavy duty equipment in case of emergency. Supervision may be exercised over Laborers in the loading and
