About the Role

Position Overview Heavy Duty Mechanic, Automotive, Advanced Journey/Lead – State Equipment Fleet, Department of

Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF). Responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy‐ and light‐equipment for

secondary roads, rural airports, and agency vehicles. Position located at 2301 Peger Road, Fairbanks, AK. Travel in

small aircraft to remote locations is required. Responsibilities Maintain all heavy‐ and light‐equipment used for road,

airport and agency operations. Diagnose and repair complex problems using troubleshooting techniques. Perform routine

and specialized maintenance on transmissions, drive trains, suspensions, engines, emissions, fuel injection, hydraulic
