About the Role
Job Summary Upper Cook Inlet Area Management Biologist (Fishery Biologist 3/4) – Soldotna, Alaska. This position is open
to Alaska residents only. The Biologist will lead management activities for commercial salmon, herring, razor clam, and
smelt fisheries, making in‐season decisions and drafting emergency orders each season. Responsibilities Lead management
activities for commercial salmon, herring, razor clam, and smelt fisheries in the Upper Cook Inlet area. Collect and
analyze data from sonar, test fish CPUE, aerial surveys, catch reports, and historical trends to inform in‐season
decision making. Write and issue up to 60 emergency orders each season, establishing fishing periods and open/closed
