About the Role
Overview The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a full‐time seasonal Groundskeeper Assistant. This role requires
physical labor outdoors in inclement weather, walking long distances, mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, etc. The
candidate may operate hand tools, power tools, and small equipment (mowers, blowers, trimmers, chainsaws) and must
operate pickup trucks and one‐ton dump trucks. Experience is not required; the Department will provide training. Working
Hours and Location Seasonal: April1 – September30. Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM‐3:30 PM (37.5 hours per week,
seven‐hour day). Report to the Douglas Parks and Landscape shop, 802 Front Street, Douglas, Alaska. Typical
