About the Role

Responsibilities The Aircraft Mechanic I APG Crew Chief is responsible for assessing aircraft damage and drafting repair

procedures for aircraft structural and composite components. The role requires advanced metalworking practices to form,

cut, bend, and fasten new or repair components to damaged structures. Key duties include: Inspect and assess damage to

aircraft structural components, form proper repair/replacement procedures using technical data. Remove and install

close‐tolerance, high‐strength fasteners in major structural components. Advise on structural repair, modification, and

corrosion protection treatments, maintaining original strength and weight. Perform post‐repair flight‐control weight and
